What I Learned Today

-Beijing hairdressers are some of the most fashionable people in the country. They often look like extras on Rent or Rufio from Hook. I'm not kidding, google it.

-They have no idea what "highlights" mean. Even when shown a picture of highlights and the Chinese word for them. Apparently it's just easier to do a full dye job.

-I do not look like Leonardo DiCaprio

Well, at least I still have the stubble.

When reading my blog, you might come across a few words or terms that you are not familiar with. So here is a handy dandy glossary to have.

E.S.E.C.- Educational Services Exchange with China. It's the organization that I work for that has been operating in China since 1981. Needless to say, anything on this blog is my own thoughts and ideas only and is not necessarily approved or endorsed by ESEC

T.I.P-Total Immersion Program. This is the program that I work for. It is an intense twenty day program for English teachers from all across China. Students (ie, the aforemention teachers) are totally immersed in an English environment and forbidden to even speak Chinese during the length of the program. Needless to say, anything on this blog is my own thoughts and ideas only and is not necessarily approved or endorsed by the administration of ESEC or TIP.
